3. Discussion:

When the parametric study was carried out with increasing outlet velocity and hence Mass flow rate, the following things were noticed:

1. The pressure ratio increases at first when we increase the mass flow rate i.e. from 10 m/s to 12 m/s (outlet velocity). The pump efficiency increases as the head delivered by the pump increase with the flow rate.
2. On further increasing the flow rate, it is noticed that the pressure ratio decreases gradually. The losses in the pump start to dominate in this region and the pump efficiency decreases.
3. The pump reaches its peak value of Pressure Ratio i.e. 2.993 at outlet velocity 12 m/s and Mass flow rate 0.457 kg/s.
