Cylinder Meshing Using ANSA

OBJECTIVE: To Mesh the Cylinder model using ANSA

PROCEDURE:

  • Import the stp model file into ANSA Graphical USer Interface.
  • By Default the model is in wire frame model, for proper 3D visualization enable shadow mode.
  • By Default the model is in entity mode, change it to PID (Property Identity) Mode.
  • From Utilities bar, select Quality criteria --> then Presentation Parameters

          visualization

               - Tick check box of Draw CONS in PID, MID,...mode, like in ENT mode

  •   click on Apply, then on OK.
  • From Utilities bar, select checks --> Geometry
  • check Manager wizard is opened
  • click on  Execute.

  • From the above image, it is clear that there are no errors in the geometry, because the status is in green tick.
  • close the check Manager wizard.
  • Enable cross Hatches from Faces Draw.
  • From the Module Buttons, select

Faces --> set PID -->selection wizard opens -->Click on the Entity from feature                      selection -->select the faces by clicking on hatch.

  • Assign PIDS for the complete model

PUMP HOUSING:

ASSIGNED PROPERTIES:

  • From Modules, click on Mesh, then select length from perimeters
  • Select the complete model by dragging a box and press central scroll then change the length parameter to 1 unit then click on Ok.
  • From Mesh Generation, select Spot Mesh
  • From Options List, choose Element as tria
  • Select the complete model by dragging a box and press central scroll.
  • Finally the Mesh is generated.

MESHING:

  • The surface mesh is done by tria elements and the distance between the nodes is approximately equal to the  1 unit.
  • The total trias are 603846.
