Meshing of a hood component according to the given quality criteria using Hypermesh

Objective: To mesh the given hood component and check the quality as per the given criteria.

Procedure:

  • Open the given hood stp file in the Hypermesh.

  • Now extract the mid surface of the model and assign thickness.
  • Cleanup the geometry using quickedit-toggle line and autocleanup options.
  • Now generate the 2D mesh using the automesh with an element size of 5mm.

  • Now check for the qualityindex using given criteria

.

  • Using different options in the qualityindex edit the model so that there are no elements failing.

Result and Conclusion:

  • Midsurface was created.
  • Mesh is created with an element size of 5mm.
  • Quality criteria are checked.

Thus, we have meshed the given hood component and checked the quality as per the given criteria using Hypermesh.
