This is the GUI of GT-SUITE. As we can see there are several options above the blank screen, those are the functions that are used In the software. 

Different GT Modules Available:


  • Once the simulation is complete, the results are viewed in the GT-POST. In its home tab there are several options such as ScratchPad, No Map, Standard Map, Flow Animation Map, etc. . There is also an option of Refresh which is used when there is a change in the GT-ISI Model parameter and we want to see the change in the result.
  • The View tab have also options that are used to view the results in different ways like zoom in, zoom out, fit to window, etc.

Overall this application is used to show the result and its every possible ways.


  • GEM3D is a 3D graphical pre-processor that combines building and importing tools used to create 1D GT-SUITE models from 3D geometries.
  • It can be used to build models from primitive components like pipes, flowslpits, shells, pumps, etc.
  • Not only 3D models can be imported but also some additional parts are also added to these models in GEM3D.
  • COOL3D tool allows for 3D model building and automatic export of underhood cooling module models.


  • VTDESIGN is a graphical preprocessing tool for valvetrain and cam design.  It has several capabilities,
    which include:
  • Cam design tool for creating/modifying cam profiles, using one of many methods: constrained polynomials, intuitive b-spline control of acceleration, or hybrid spline with low order constants/slopes/quadratics connected by splines.
  • Dimension-by-dimension visual setup of the valvetrain mechanism.  All 5 standard valvetrain types are supported, and profile entered can be cam shape or valve lift profile.

Some other types of applications are GT-SpaceClaim, Converge Lite, GT-TAITherm:

  • GT-SPACECLAIM is a 3D CAD tool included with GT-SUITE.  Key applications include:
  • Extracting the inner/fluid core (negative) of a solid model
  • Importing and converting common CAD formats to GEM3D and COOL3D
  • Simplifying geometry to prepare a model for simulation
  • Building solid geometry for simulation before production CAD files are available.
  • The GT-TAITherm is an industry leading thermal analysis code.
  • TAITherm provides the transient natural environment, including multi-band radiation, conduction, and glass transparency, with focus on surfaces and solid objects.
